BT-5 Soviet wheel-track tank

Description

The BT-5 light tracked tank was created as a result of the modernization and improvement of the combat characteristics and techniques of the BT-2 tank. The main difference from the BT-5 became a new turret with more powerful arms: a 45mm 20-K gun. A "Liberty" engine was also changed to a native M-5 (than it was the M-17), was enlarged by one size of fuel and lubricant tanks, improved transmission construction and some track components. The BT-2 tank fought in Spain in 1937-38, on Lake "Khasan" in 1938, in Mongolia, Finland in 1939-40 and also during World War II in 1941-1945. More than 2000 samples of the BT-2 tank and its modifications were made from it.
