Model Description:

The D.XXI is a low-wing monoplane, constructed with a steel tubular structure covered mostly with linen fabric. Following the classic Fokker design, it had wooden-structured wings and a fixed landing gear for ease of use on rough terrain. Featuring an enclosed cockpit, it was powered by a Bristol Mercury radial engine with a three-bladed propeller. Its introduction in 1938 marked a significant leap for the Luchtvaartafdeeling, which predominantly operated old open-cockpit biplanes. This new Fokker proved to be an extremely robust aircraft capable of reaching speeds of 700 km/h in a dive.
