Junkers Ju 290A-5 Seeadler
Description
Scale : 1/72
Level : Advanced
Theme : Military plane – WW2
The Junkers Ju 290 was one of the
largest and most capable German aircraft of the Second World War. Developed
from the civilian Junkers Ju 90 airliner, it was adapted for military
use and became an important long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft of the
Luftwaffe.
The Ju 290A-5 and Ju 290A-7
variants, known as the “Seeadler” (“Sea Eagle”), were primarily employed
over the Atlantic Ocean. Their mission was to locate Allied convoys and relay
their positions to German U-boats operating during the Battle of the Atlantic.
Thanks to their exceptional range and strong defensive armament, these aircraft
became highly valuable assets in Germany's maritime warfare strategy.
This Revell reissue brings back a highly
sought-after kit that has been unavailable for many years. Once completed, the
model features an impressive wingspan of almost 58 cm and a length approaching
40 cm, accurately reflecting the imposing dimensions of the original aircraft.
The kit includes a detailed interior and offers
the option of displaying the defensive gun turrets in either open or closed
positions. Its size, presence and level of detail make it a standout addition
to any collection of Second World War aircraft.
Designed for experienced modellers, this
large-scale project offers an impressive display piece representing one of the
most significant German long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft of the war.
