PILATUS PC-6C / H-2 TURBO-PORTER

Description

Originaly a civilian Pilatus PC-6 Porter utility aircraft built by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland. Armed gunship, counter-insurgency, this plane was in service with the U.S. Air Force. A special chapter in the career of the PC-6 was its service with the "Air America" Airline. Although officially it was a private company, in reality, it belonged to the Central Intelligence Agency. The PC-6 were used in South East Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia) where the poor conditions of unprepared air fields unsuitable for other types of planes proved its advantages. (Scale : 1/48e)
