The Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO), meaning “Eastern tracked tractor,” was developed in 1942 to operate in the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front. Designed for mud, snow and rough terrain, it was known for its simplicity, durability and excellent mobility.

The RSO/01 was one of the primary production variants, widely used for transport, supply duties and towing artillery. Late production versions featured simplified construction and adjustments to streamline manufacturing during wartime.
