History

The S-65 or Stalinets S-65 tractor was a very popular agricultural tractor built by the Chelyabinsk (Chelyabinskii Traktornyi Zavod - ChTZ) tractor factory from 1937 to 1941. These tractors were used in military service as they were widely available and capable of towing heavy weapons. This 11-ton tractor is equipped with a large 4-cylinder diesel engine in a prominent rectangular housing. The flight deck was open or closed and was designed to accommodate up to two crew members. The engine produced 65 horsepower and a maximum speed of 7 km/ h. It is estimated that it had an endurance/ range of about 80 km.
