Description

The Dora Wings 48064 – Fairey Delta 2 is a 1/48 scale model of the iconic Fairey Delta 2, a British experimental aircraft from the 1950s.

Designed by Fairey Aviation, the FD.2 was developed to study transonic and supersonic flight. It first flew in 1954 and made history by becoming the first aircraft to exceed 1,000 mph in level flight, setting a world speed record in 1956.

Featuring a thin delta wing and streamlined fuselage, it also introduced the innovative drooped nose system, improving pilot visibility during take-off and landing — a concept later used on Concorde.
