Standing RNAS Pilot

Description

Royal Flying Corps (full English name: Royal Flying Corps, abbreviated as RFC) was a British Air Force term that was used from May 1912 to April 1918. At that time, the Air Force British was structurally and organizationally part of the army. At the start of World War I, the RFC was established by one observation balloon squadron and four squadrons. In the early months of the Great War, the RFC was primarily tasked with cooperating with its own artillery and carrying out photographic reconnaissance. Over time, RFC pilots were tasked with air combat with enemy machines, performing bombing tasks and supporting their own ground forces by implementing assault tasks.
