YW-701A - ARMORED COMMAND and CONTROL VEHICLE (GULF WAR)

Description

The YW-701A is a version of the successful YW-531 APC, designed with a larger rear box compartment to house communications and command equipment. Up to five radio sets can be carried in the Command version, which is armed with a Type 54 12.7mm light machine gun mounted on the roof. This hull is also used for an armoured ambulance version sometimes designated the YW-750. This is identical to the Command version but does not have the antenna mountings, the interior is fitted out to carry stretchers and medical supplies. Both vehicles have been exported to countries supplied with the YW-531, including Iraq and Sri Lanka. (Scale : 1/35e)
