The Revell 03749 – Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a/U4 is a 1/32 scale model kit of one of the most unusual variants of the legendary German jet fighter.

The U4 version was developed as a heavy interceptor intended to destroy Allied bomber formations from long range. To achieve this, the standard armament was replaced by a massive 50 mm Mauser MK 214A cannon mounted in the aircraft’s nose. This modification required significant structural changes and resulted in the aircraft’s distinctive long-barrel appearance.

Only a small number of prototypes were completed and tested before the end of World War II. Although its firepower was impressive, operational development remained limited due to weight and recoil issues.

The Revell kit is based on its existing 1/32 Me 262 tooling and includes newly developed parts for the U4 conversion. It features 220 parts, a detailed cockpit, accurately reproduced Jumo 004 engines and realistic landing gear details.

This model is an excellent choice for Luftwaffe enthusiasts and modelers interested in late-war experimental aircraft.
