NIEUPORT 28 c1 - 1918

Description

French fighter at the end of the World War One. Due to the appearance of the more modern Spad XIII, the type was not accepted by the Aviation Militaire Française. However, almost all the Nieuport 28’s built were bought by the United States Army after they entry into the war in 1918. The Nieuport became the basic equipment of the American Expeditionary Force pursuit squadrons and the first American aces (such as Edward Rickenbacker) gained many victories piloting this airplane.
