British Tank

Description

Scale: 1/72
Skill level: Expert
Theme: Armored vehicle, WW1

The MB72001 – British Tank Mk.I “Male” – Battle of the Somme 1916 kit is a 1/72 scale model of the first operational tank used in combat, deployed during the Battle of the Somme.

The Mark I tank was introduced by the British Army in 1916 to break the deadlock of trench warfare on the Western Front. Its innovative rhomboid shape and full-length tracks allowed it to cross trenches, obstacles and rough battlefield terrain.

The “Male” version was armed with cannons mounted in side sponsons, supported by machine guns, making it effective against enemy fortifications and defensive positions.

This kit accurately represents a vehicle used during the Battle of the Somme, marking the first combat deployment of tanks in military history. The model captures the distinctive shape and structural features of the Mk.I.

In 1/72 scale, it provides an excellent base for World War I dioramas or for collectors of historic armored vehicles.

Designed for experienced modelers, this kit represents a key milestone in military history.
