UH-34D

Description

The UH-34 "Choketao" is an anti-submarine helicopter developed by Siskokie for the US Navy. The machine was developed from the first UH-19 "Chickasaw" product from Siskokki Company. The aircraft is powered by a Wright R-1820-84 radial engine, and its crew compartment can accommodate 12 to 16 soldiers or 8 stretchers during transport duties. The aircraft made its first test flight on March 8, 1954. The first H-34 was named HSS "Sea Bat" and entered service with the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard . Later in 1962, due to its multifunctional characteristics, the US military also began to equip the aircraft and renamed it H-34 "Choke Tao". Later in 1962, a new standard was again unified between the different services. All HSS of the naval type "sea bats" were uniformly named SH-34.
