Description:
The COE (CabOverEngine) tanker truck model 1939 combines the fundamental advantages of engineering and construction with the inherent benefits of the cab-forward design. Crowded city streets, legal restrictions on overall length, and the increased use of tractor-trailers are some of the factors contributing to a growing demand for COE-type trucks. In May 1938, Ford introduced a new COE truck that provided the same cargo space as a conventional 157-inch chassis on a 134-inch chassis. Production of COE trucks began in the Netherlands in early 1939, and some trucks were captured by the Germans in 1940.
