The Unimog S 404 Krankenwagen is a 1/72 scale model kit of the ambulance version of the famous Mercedes-Benz Unimog S 404, a highly capable off-road vehicle widely used by the German Bundeswehr during the Cold War.

With a payload capacity of approximately 1.5 tons and outstanding cross-country performance, the Unimog S 404 proved ideal for medical evacuation duties. The Krankenwagen version featured an enclosed body designed to transport wounded personnel and medical staff under demanding field conditions.

The interior could be configured to carry up to four stretchers or a combination of stretchers and seats depending on mission requirements. Wide rear doors allowed quick and efficient loading of casualties. Approximately 2,000 vehicles of this type were built for German military service.
